In order to get the whole convention experience, we decided to try out other conventions...some as far away as Texas. Anime Expo is pretty much a staple for us Southern California boys, but we have to expand our horizons. We need to get out of our comfort zone in order grow, prosper and deal with hardships thrown at us. We need to see the world instead this narrow sliver we call the “South Bay.”

During these adventure, we came across unexpected setbacks, unexpected twist and turns for better most of the time, but these adventures help us become better people. We’ve came across many people from all walks of life, some judgmental, some welcoming, some having no clue at all and, thankfully, many that are open-mined. We met some of these claim to be experience “con-goers,” but clueless outside their own little world. They’re all good people. All this comes with the territory.

We make no claim whatsoever that we’re the most experienced and the best judge of what makes a good convention. But what we do know, we all better experiences at these conventions than at Anime Expo. They’re more personal, we got to meet and talk to some important guests without being “shooed” away by staff, enjoy the easy-going atmosphere and going to many of the offered events...hassle-free.
